A person with open perception is willing to take in all the information that is fed to them. This means using the five senses (touch, smell, sight, hearing, and taste) as well as mind, sprit, and intuition. To open your perception means to be receptive to all things that come to you and to what surrounds you at every second of every day.
Most people take the five senses for granted. For instance, some have closed themselves off to an important form of perception, sight. For blind people, sight in its full capacity is not gone. It is scientifically proven than in blind persons their sensitivity to other senses is heightened. The idea that blind persons have lost their sight, or vision, is not completely correct. They cannot experience color orlight in the same way that others can, but they “see” things in ways that most others cannot due to their opened perception. People who are blind do not have the barrier of being fooled by what is physically in front of them. They rely on all their senses— including mind, spirit, and intuition—allowing themselves to “feel” life.
Perception is a powerful thing and not to be taken lightly. Some people already know this. Perception can free you from your self-inflicted prison or put you in a merry prison of your own. Perception can be turned against you, and you should realize it is the most important key of all. Opening your perception, does not mean you are to fall victim to anything, or anyone. Opening your perception is meant to give you the ability to make up your own mind about what to do next, and tofollow your true path. It does not mean falling victim to others that have learned to manipulate perception or becoming manipulative yourself.
The “good manipulators of perception” are people who have dedicated themselves to helping others achieve the same openness that they have experienced. Once you experience open perception, you obtain a feeling of true satisfaction, a feeling that leaves behind doubt, fear, uncertainty, and worry.
Once you open your perception, you begin to understand the principles on which life as a whole is built. You will “see” the world in a different light, and the first step is to stop asking “Why?” To open your perception, you must understand this concept. You must stop questioning. You must accept. You must let go. You must give up. You must release control. You must gather the strength within and say “I submit.” When a belief structure is in shambles, it is sometimes wiser to demolish it, start from scratch, and build a better model.
When someone is drowning, he panics, and the more he panics, the faster he sinks. It is not until you relax, release, and let go that you may perhaps survive the drowning incident, and finally float and go where the flow takes you. Life is like the ocean. You must release and go wherever it takes you. But it is not until you relinquish control, that you will experience this peace.
It is curious to hear people say that life does not favor them because things do not go their way. This is a perception. The more this person thinks this way, the more this thought will manifest itself. Although this person believes that things are out of control, it is them in fact out of control. We have the power within to shape our surroundings.
And here goes a statement that will seem contradictory: It is not until you release control that you will enable your perceptions to control your surroundings.
